Analysis of Key Players' Patent Filings for Digital Biomarker Technology

Digital biomarker technology is used to gather behavioral, physiological data and diagnose illnesses. It is present in implantables, portables, digestibles and wearables. For example, devices like Oura rings, FitBits and Apple Watches use this technology. The market for digital biomarkers is estimated to reach approximately USD 24.5-25 billion by 2030, with a growth rate of  36-37%.

To understand this technology better, we evaluated companies' patent filings in different countries during the last 10 years. Keywords related to digital biomarkers were used to create a search query in PatSeer along with the appropriate IPC and CPC classes. We found over 3000 patent families which were studied in more detail to understand the key companies and their filing trends in every country.
